1 Introduction

The analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects of acupuncture have been recognized by the academic and medical circles1. 3 Mechanism of far-infrared therapy for analgesia and anti-inflammation

To gain a deeper understanding of the biophysical mechanism of far-infrared therapy, we can start from two aspects: mitochondria (Mitochondrion) and nitric oxide (Nitric Oxide, NO). In other words, when the acupoints of the human body are irradiated with a large amount of far-infrared rays, the mitochondria in the cells will be stimulated and then a large amount of ATP synthase will be produced to facilitate ATP synthesis. Another benefit of far infrared is the ability to stimulate nitric oxide (Nitric Oxide, NO).
